Even with current challenges plaguing India's diamond manufacturing sector, the long term future remains very promising. During the Rapaport International Diamond Conference that was held in Mumbai, Martin Rapaport, the chairman of the Rapaport Group, hosted a panel discussion focused on navigating a changing environment. Panel experts provided insight and solutions to move forward effectively. Panelists included Arnav Mehta, the director of Blue Star Diamonds, Russell Mehta, the managing director of Rosy Blue India Pvt. Ltd., Vishal Doshi, the group executive director of Shrenuj & Co. Ltd. and Ezriel Rapaport, the director of global trading at Rapaport. Topics touched upon the importance of research and development, taking a wider view of production capacity and value addition, integrating operations, building partnerships and locating alternative sources of funding.
