The World Diamond Congress is set to take place in Israel in 2023, following a five-year period in which the event ran in a virtual format.

The Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) will host the triennial event on March 29 and 30, it said last week. The summit grants the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) a forum to discuss industry-related issues.

The last congress occurred online in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions on travel. At that time, the meeting was held every other year.

Next year’s summit will cap off a weeklong series of professional events in Israel between March 27 and 30 as part of International Diamond Week. Those include the Israel Diamond Conference on March 27, which will feature talks and panels by key people in the trade. Meanwhile, the Israel International Diamond Exhibition, scheduled for March 28 to 30, will showcase a large variety of goods.

“The Israel Diamond Exchange is thrilled to be hosting the most important diamond occasion of the year 2023,” said IDE president Boaz Moldawsky. “We are planning a very high-level and exciting series of events, with some interesting surprises. We look forward to welcoming all members of the world diamond and jewelry industries.”
