RAPAPORT... The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) has appointed industry veteran Doug Hucker as CEO, to succeed Gary Roskin.

Hucker was the CEO of the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) for the past 24 years, before leaving in March. He has also served on the boards of a number of industry associations, including the American Gem Society (AGS), the Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC), and the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO), the ICA said Tuesday.

In his new role, Hucker will work on expanding the ICA’s membership, strengthening its influence and resources, and acting as an advocate for its members and the colored gemstone industry at large, the organization explained.

“We are very excited to have an individual as talented and committed as Douglas Hucker, who has a long and proven record of association-management excellence, join our team,” said ICA president Clement Sabbagh. “Doug brings proven leadership skills, knowledge of the industry, solid ethical credentials, and a vision for the future that aligns perfectly with our board and membership.”
