Show Time

RAPAPORT... Even the glitter and glitz of the Las Vegas strip can’t out-sparkle the jewelry showcased by today’s top firms as they exhibit new designs during a week of shows. The following pages highlight some of the top trends for jewelry and apparel coming up for the fall/winter season, when black rules the runways and a trip back is a look forward as bygone eras are made new again with innovative fabrics. This fall, you don’t have to be mad to wear plaid, as the classic pattern goes contemporary. If color appeals, watch for royal purples and shades of autumn; green remains strong while floral prints blossom on dark backgrounds for a wintry hue. Skirts will go to any length to please, from microminis to ankle teasers. For the upcoming season, feathers remain fluffy, sequins continue to shine and diamonds always come up aces in fashion.

Metal & Lace
Openwork softens a design and adds a lacy feeling to even the strongest motifs.

Just a Drop
Dangling earrings keep attention on the face and coordinate with patterned or ornamented tops.

Black & White
Edgy or classic, this contrasting color combo adds drama to anything and everything.

A Rosy World
The charm of rose cut diamonds blends elegantly with styles that draw upon previous eras and look especially right with bohemian influences from the 1960s and ’70s.

Two Together
Two pendants with the subtle shimmer of diamond accents, when worn together, personalize a look and enhance simple necklines.

At Your Fingertips
Big diamond rings make a big statement, holding their own with a print or contrasting the starkness of black.

Wrist Watch
Bangles, bracelets and cuffs remain important as the wrist becomes a focal point for jewelry, balancing out blouses with bows and decorated necklines.
