Designer Lines

By Amber Michelle

Designer Judith Murat, the force behind the House of Murat, has released a book, Judy’s Journey into the Land of Murat, the tale of a magical land that inspires her gemstone and precious metal jewelry creations. The designer, who resides in Palm Beach, Florida, and summers in Southampton, tells the story of her travels across the ocean, seashore, forest and universe, where she finds gorgeous jewels. The book is sold on Amazon.com. Murat recently held a book signing in Palm Beach to benefit the American Red Cross of that town.

With silver deemed the metal of the moment by the fashion set, the Silver Promotion Service (SPS) has added some new designer members to its Savor Silver program. Frederic Duclos, Phillip Gavriel and Carolyn Pollack have been inducted into the program’s Designer of Distinction category. The SPS credits designers — and their talent for creating interesting jewelry using this precious metal — as the reason for silver jewelry’s recent increase in popularity.
Jacob & Co. is making the stars sparkle in diamond jewels once again. This time, the jewelry house custom-designed a tiara for Amber Ridinger, creator of the Lumière de Vie skin care line and daughter of shop.com owners Loren and JR Ridinger. She wore the tiara at her wedding to actor/singer Duane McLaughlin. The $16 million tiara features over 100 carats of diamonds showcasing a 22.73-carat center stone. The tiara was created out of a double-strand necklace set in platinum.
