Looking for a talisman of protection from
vampires and other foes?
Look no further than the Scaccia Diavolo
collection by Liv Ballard.

“The Scaccia Diavolo bracelet was inspired by the dawning realization in my life that there were a lot of vampires hanging around — people who do not actually drain your blood, but who definitely drain your life blood,” says designer Liv Ballard, who divides her time between Los Angeles, Paris and Rome.
Ballard draws upon the mythology of vampires for the Scaccia Diavolo collection. The charms are classic vampire chasers — garlic clove, cross, sun, wooden stake and mirror — but with a modern spin in precious gems and metals. “Being conscious of the need to protect oneself from undesirables is empowering,” notes Ballard.
The charms from the collection — its Italian name translates to “chase away the devil” — can be worn individually as pendants or together on a charm bracelet. Each 18-karat yellow gold charm is handmade by master goldsmiths in Italy and features ebony, ruby and diamond accents. Ballard, who has a background in ceramics, languages and fine arts, says, “I love that to some there is a personal attachment to its deeper meaning, while to others it can just be a fun charm bracelet.”
