Jewelry connoisseur: Crowning glory

A tiara can give brides the royal treatment.

By Rachael Taylor
Blushing bride aside, the star of this year’s royal wedding was the glittering Garrard Queen Mary Diamond Bandeau tiara edging the duchess of Sussex’s 16-foot veil. As with all things royal, this will no doubt reignite sales of bridal tiaras, be they new designs, bespoke commissions or estate pieces. Having a diamond tiara in-store ready to loan can also help sweeten an engagement ring sale. These headpieces are popping up in fashion as well: A minimalist homage lay nestled in the hair of a hoodie-wearing Elle Fanning for the promo shots of Paper Flowers, Reed Krakoff’s first collection for Tiffany & Co. If you prefer a tiara-lite option, try diamond-set hair bands or clips.
