Canadian Jewellers Association Appoints New Chair

The Canadian Jewellers Association (CJA) has elected a new board of directors, to be chaired by Angela Betteridge.

Betteridge, president of her eponymous jewelry company in British Columbia, will serve a two-year term from 2023 to 2025, the CJA said last week. Her career spans multiple facets of the industry, including diamond exploration, mining, rough and polished sales, advertising and marketing, jewelry design, and retail sales.

Before opening her business, Betteridge was a brand manager for BHP Billiton’s Ekati and Aurias brands, and an operations manager at De Beers.

The new board members joining Betteridge are:

First vice chair: Chau Lui, Paris Jewellers, Edmonton

Second vice chair: Geoffrey Beattie, Barclay’s Fine Jewellers, Victoria

Director and member of executive committee: Marco Pasteris, Birks Group, Montreal

Director: Mark Devereaux, Jewelers Mutual Group, Neenah, Wisconsin

Director: Kevin Vantyghem, Vantyghem Diamonds, Kitchener

Director: Shant Purutoglu, Gem Lab Appraisal Services, Toronto

Director: Heather Davis, Stellar Gem Services, Kelowna

Director: Keith Jack, Keith Jack Inc., Vancouver
