RAPAPORT... Charm Diamond Centres in Nova Scotia received the right to carry diamonds mined, cut and polished in Ontario, Canada. The company's  diamonds are mined at the De Beers Victor mine and then cut and polished by  Crossworks Manufacturing in Sudbury. The finished stones will be sold at select Charm Diamond locations and will also be available at all of its locations during Charm's 2010 travelling trunk show.

"Today's consumers are mindful of the true origin of their diamonds," said Troy Calder, the president of Charm Diamond Centres. "Each of these diamonds is accompanied by an Ontario Government Certificate of Origin and has a unique identification number laser-inscribed on it to guarantee its pedigree.

"As a Canadian company, Charm is committed to supporting the Canadian diamond industry," Calder added.

Charm Diamond Centres has carried diamonds from the Diavik and Ekati mines in the Northwest Territories since 2002.

The company opened its first store in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia in 1972 and now has 68 stores across the nation, extending from Alberta to Newfoundland and Labrador.
