RAPAPORT... Burglars broke into the De Beers and Omega stores located at London’s Royal Exchange on Saturday night, according to the U.K. Press Association. Police confirmed that jewelry had been taken from the two exclusive stores, estimating that as much as $1 million worth of gems was stolen. They are now investigating the incident.
Reports on the incident stated that a security guard working at the building said four men traveling in a BMW managed to enter through the back entrance.
"It's looking as though whoever has done this has been targeting the shops for a long time," he said.
The Royal Exchange houses more than 30 luxury stores.
