JIC Launches Second Annual Ultimate Proposal Contest

RAPAPORT... The Jewelry Information Center (JIC)  launched its second annual Ultimate Proposal Contest on April 4, 2011 at The nationwide online contest allows couples in the U.S. to submit their proposal stories  for a chance to win travel and jewelry prizes.

To enter, couples must describe their special proposal and provide information about the rings that signify their romantic bond at some point before May 23.  From May 31 through June 20, website visitors from the U.S. will be able to vote for their favorite of the top 10 finalists and determine JIC's Ultimate Proposal Story.

The couple who submits the winning story will receive platinum and diamond rings by MaeVona, courtesy of Platinum Guild International, and a seven-night cruise for two to the Caribbean on Norwegian Cruise Line, courtesy of CMC-Meridian. The top 10 finalists will each receive a freshwater cultured pearl necklace from Imperial.

"Engagement rings and proposals embody hope, promise, love and commitment," says Amanda Gizzi, spokesperson for JIC.  "Last year's contest resulted in more than 1,200 story submissions that ranged from humorous to sentimental to adventurous. We are looking forward to receiving even more special stories at JIC's website this year."

There are more than 170 Jewelers of America  member jewelers participating in JIC's Ultimate Proposal Contest.  Each participating retailer will  encourage their customers to enter the contest. Additional contest sponsors include  Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company;; and Platinum Guild International, USA.
