RAPAPORT... Luxeford auction house sold $180,445 (HKD 1.4 million) worth of jewels at its silent sale held in Hong Kong. The company sold 66 percent of the 32 lots on offer. The sale saw interest across the board but especially for quality diamond items, Luxeford said. Top lots included a pair of 2.10 and 2.20 carat diamond ear studs, which sold for $43,306 (HKD 336,000), and a Harry Winston “Premier Biretrograde” lady’s diamond wristwatch, which sold for $18,560 (HKD144,000). Located in central Hong Kong, Luxeford specializes in high-end jewelry and offers appraisals and auctions to collectors, families, estate executors, and charities across the world. The auction house conducts two major auctions per year and offers a wide variety of items from collectibles for private sales. Luxeford will hold its next sale in November 2012.
