GJEPC to Host IIJW 2012 in Mumbai Come August 19

Press Release: In its endeavor to promote India as the innovation and design destination for jewelry, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) will host the third edition of India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) from August 19 to 23, 2012 at the Grand Hyatt, Santacruz (East), Mumbai. This year, the participants list will include more than 32 leading designers and jewelry brands showcasing the finest in designs, style and latest trends.

Adding glamor to this magnificent event, Sonam Kapoor, GJEPC’s brand ambassador will be seen dazzling the runway adorning some of the most spectacular jewelry pieces made by Indian designers. Kapoor also features in the multi-media campaign to promote India International Jewellery 2012. Conceptualized by McCann Erickson and shot by Tarun Vishwa, the campaign has been styled by Mohan Neelakanthan.

One of the highlights of this year’s edition will be a special show by Japan’s leading and eminent jewelry designer Ishikava Nobuko, pioneer in introducing design to jewelry in Japan. The audience will also witness Bollywood celebrities taking the ramp along with popular models.

IIJW is an initiative to showcase India's finest in jewelry, be it design, innovation, craftsmanship, technology or quality to the customers around the globe. India, the world diamond leader, is today burgeoning with energy and passion when it comes to jewelry as the fastest growing manufacturing center and is soon progressing to be world's "jewelry hub."

IIJW 2012 is going to be one glamorous destination with a lot of international buyers and media attending and set the mercury sizzling with their presence giving the event the international edge that it so covets. The event will not only showcase established design houses and designers, but will also give an opportunity to new talented designers to showcase their skills. The shows will be choreographed by leading Indian choreographers Annu Ahuja, Lubna Adams, Achla Sachdev and Elric D’Souza.

This year’s participants list includes leading Indian brands such as Gitanjali Gems, Eekani Jewels, Laxmi Jewellery, Dwarkadas Chandumal, Amrapali Jewels, Gehna Jewellers, Dynamic International (HK) (Malpani), Agni Jewels, Anmol Jewellers, Ganjam, YS 18, Cappuccino Collection, Kays Jewels, Infinity Creations – Japan, Raksha Enterprises, D. Navinchandra, Jewels Emporium, Kashi Jewellers, KGK Entice , Birdichand Ghanshyamdas, Jaipur Jewellery Show, among others. Designers such as Tanvi Garg, Dipti Amisha, Preeti Jain, Farah Khan, Zeenat Desai (US) and well known institutes such as GIA, IGI promoting their young talents are also participating.

IIJW 2012 will take place five days with first four  showcasing collections from designers and design houses, with fifth day showcasing best of best of all participants of the Week.
