RAPAPORT... MJ Christensen signed on as a Friend of the Diamond Development Initiative (DDI) at the Millennium Star level. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) remains an integral part of MJ Christensen, according to  Jennifer Miller, the director of marketing for the company.

''As a company that cares about our customers, as well as those who mine the raw resources used in jewelry, we continually look to where we can make a difference,'' Miller said. ''When we learned of the work of DDI, we knew we had found a way to have a positive impact on the lives of those who are a critical part of the diamond supply chain.''

Dorothée Gizenga, the executive director of the DDI, added, ''We are very impressed with MJ Christensen’s CSR programs, such as Bead for Life, and it is quite an honor for DDI to be selected by them for support. But more importantly, MJ Christensen’s contribution will assist DDI in its work of improving the socioeconomic conditions of artisanal diamond miners – the source of 15 percent of global gem quality diamonds.''

MJ Christensen was founded in 1939 and says that it proud of maintaining  strong ethics and values.
