RAPAPORT... The Gemstone Industry & Laboratory Conference (GILC), an invitation-only event hosted by the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) to be held September 18 in Hong Kong, announced speakers and topics for that day. The Gemmological Association of Hong Kong will present a progress report on the Fei Cui testing standard for omphacite and khorsmochor; Chi Huynh of Galatea USA, Chenne Philippe and Frogier Teraiareva will discuss the Galatea pearl; John Hung of Certification & Testing Council of Hong Kong will address the role of certification and testing and the ICA's opal committee will summarize its Ethiopian opal research. A report from this event will be shared with the industry on ICA's next issue of InColor.
