RAPAPORT... Jewelers of America (JA) updated its Jewelry 101 sales training and orientation program, which provides an overview of jewelry product knowledge and sales skills.

The updates to Jewelry 101 include an additional section on jewelry sales training from the experts at the Diamond Council of America. Other topics covered in the training guide include gemstones, gold, pearls, platinum and diamonds. The training kit also includes a DVD with presentations by industry experts and it is designed for self-pace study.

"Jewelers of America's Jewelry 101 training program gives jewelry store owners and managers the benefits of a high-quality in-store or at-home orientation and training course without the high cost," said David Peters, JA's director of education and industry relations. "It is the perfect addition to any jewelry firm to train new employees or enhance staff sales presentations."
