Press Release:  What are the strategies and tactics that make luxury brands and designers achieve success and popularity among consumers? The Women’s Jewelry Association’s Metropolitan Chapter (WJA Metro) has partnered with ''W'' magazine to host a powerhouse panel of jewelry industry VIPs who will address this question at its annual Spring Fling cocktail event, being held at the Condé Nast headquarters (4 Times Square) on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available for WJA members and nonmembers alike at www.womensjewelryassociation.com/metro

This year’s Spring Fling theme, “Behind the Scenes,” features a panel of executives who built some of the world’s most iconic jewelry brands: Michele “Mickey” Ateyeh, the  owner/principal of Angela Cummings Designs; Colleen Caslin, the chief operating officer at Verdura; Lou Iacovelli, the president of Atelier Creative Services; Jodi Kaplan, the vice president of divisional merchandise manager - jewelry at Bergdorf Goodman and Amy Rosi, the president of Aros Communications. Guests will also enjoy cocktails and canapés while networking with fellow jewelry professionals.

W fashion market and accessories director Karla Martinez de Salas, who oversees fashion, accessories and jewelry at the magazine, will moderate the panel. Topics covered will include successful business  strategies, the collaboration between creative and manufacturing, introducing and/or reinventing a brand, and who’s buying what at the jewelry counter.

“We’re delighted to partner for the first time with W and to offer our members this extraordinary networking and educational opportunity,” said WJA's Metro president,  Desiree Hanson.  “It’s rare to have this level of luxury brand experts together in one room; we anticipate a very lively and informative discussion.  In addition to W and our panelists, we are very grateful for the support of our chapter sponsors, Carrera Casting, Circa, and RSP media.”
