Press Release: On June 2,  Jewelers for Children (JFC) held the 15th Annual Facets of Hope event in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.  The charity announced that more than $2.6 million had been raised to support their charity partners in the year ahead and that since 1999, more than $43 million had been donated on behalf of the industry to help children in need.

“We are truly an industry with a heart and what we do through Jewelers for Children has no equal in any other industry,''  said Peter Engel, JFC's board chair.  ''We have helped so many children over the years, it's a real honor to be part of the industry's charity.”

The evening began with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner and the program.  During the program, the organization recognized Bea Spiech of Macy's, who was presented with her award by Effy and Benny Hematian of Effy Jewelry, and Efraim Grinberg, the chairman of the Movado Group, who was introduced by actress Kerry Washington.  Guests heard from St. Jude patient Jessica, who also spoke at the Facets of Hope event in 2002 and Make-A-Wish recipient Tiffany Rowe, who previously attended the 2001 event.   Both recalled their previous visits and congratulated the industry on 15 years of success.

More than 1,600 industry guests attended the event that was immediately followed by JCK Rocks the Beach.

Jewelers for Children will return to Las Vegas for the 16th annual Facets of Hope event on Sunday, June 1, 2014.

Jewelers for Children was founded in 1999 by the U.S. jewelry industry with the mission of helping children in need. Since its inception, JFC has donated more than $ 43 million to programs benefiting children whose lives have been affected by illness, abuse, or neglect through our charity partners St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and the National CASA Association.  JFC also provides support to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® International, and the Santa-America Fund.  This nationwide success is due to the continuing generosity of jewelry trade organizations, jewelry and watch manufacturing companies, jewelry retail stores, individual jewelry professionals, and jewelry consumers.
