RAPAPORT... Gitanjali Jewels opened its 100th store in India today at Gurgaon. Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel (pictured) inaugurated the showroom alongside Santosh Srivastava, the managing director of Gitanjali Jewels, and its franchise owners. The new showroom is 5,500 square feet and carries the Asmi, Nakshatra, D’damas, Gili, Diya, Parineeta, Sangini, Nizam, Ananya and Gitanjali gold brands. Gitanjali Jewels expects to open as many as 60 stores in the next 18 months. Srivastava said, “The implementation of a vision is what makes a success story happen. Having started out with a meager five to six stores at the beginning, it’s a moment of sheer pride for us to be inaugurating our 100th store today. But we have a long way to go, and in the coming years we anticipate around 300 stores that would mark new phenomena in national and international markets combined. Our dream was to reach out to the masses, helping them wear their aspirations in the form of affordable luxurious jewelry. Today Gitanjali Jewels caters to the aspirations of millions of people across the Indian subcontinent.”
The franchise owners, Ajay and Ashok Mittal, said in a joint statement, “Being associated with Gitanjali Jewels is a happy moment in itself, and to be able to be the 100th store’s owners brings about a whole other level of pride. We are ecstatic to be associated with such an esteemed brand and are looking forward to a long and blossoming venture.”
