The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform & Consumer Protection Act requires that publicly-held companies report to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the origins of the gold and tungsten they use. To comply with the law, these companies are asking their suppliers detailed questions about the source of those minerals, and about the "due diligence" measures these suppliers take to ensure a responsible supply chain.
