ALROSA Appoints Yuzhanov as Chair of Supervisory Board

EGM to Take Place December 20

RAPAPORT... ALROSA's supervisory board held its first meeting of the second half in Moscow on September 3 where it appointed a number of committee members and chose December 20 as the company's extraordinary general meeting (EGM) date for shareholders. It will be at the EGM where the election of supervisory board members concludes following the tragic death of two board members, Viktor Efimov and Alexander Morozkin, representatives of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), who perished in a helicopter crash on July 2.

The supervisory board appointed Ilya Yuzhanov as its chairman,  Sergey Mestnikov as the first vice chairman and Sergey Barsukov as vice chairman.

In addition, the board created a committee to review and work on priority recommendations for the supervisory board.  Egor Borisov, the President of Yakutia, is heading ALROSA's strategic planning committee, which also includes members Fyodor Andreev, ALROSA's president;  Barsukov; Oleg Fyodorov; Galina Danchikova, the Prime Minister of Yakutia and Evgeniya Grigoryeva, Yakutia's Minister of Property and Land Relations.

ALROSA's audit committee and the human resources and remunerations committee were formed with independent directors Pavel Borodin, Sergey Dubinin, Dmitry Zakharov, Vasily Lukyantsev and Alexander Shokhin.  Dubinin was elected as the chairman of the audit committee and Shokhin was elected to head the human relations and remunerations committee.
