RAPAPORT... Watchmaker Dominique Loiseau passed away on September 18, according to a statement from watch brand Girard-Perregaux. In 2012, Loiseau joined Girard-Perregaux to develop new in-house movements for the brand. According to the company, Loiseau was 64 and had some health issues.

The company described Dominique as ''a special person, a visionary who had the genius of creating and crafting masterpieces and, at the same time, to be himself a special mechanism of the beautiful circle of watchmakers and all people working in our industry.''

Among Loiseau’s numerous accomplishments are the complex Rose des Temps table clock, pocket watches Renaissance and Capriccio, the six Montres des Sables, which was a series of pocket watches, each with a different complication, the Alpha-Omega and the Blancpain 1735.

Loiseau has not only been credited for restoring timepieces from the past but for creating some of today's most complicated watches. He is credited with producing the most complicated automatic watch, Loiseau 1f4, within his brand Loiseau.
