RAPAPORT... The New York Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) expects more than 400 companies to participate in next week's Israel Diamond Week in Manhattan. DDC's president, Reuven Kaufman, confirmed that attendees will have an opportunity to buy and sell from an unusually large assortment of merchandise of all shapes, colors, sizes and prices. The DDC opens its trading floor for this special event from November 11 to 14. Traders from the U.S., Israel along with retailers and diamantaires from other bourses are expected to attend. Kaufman has also arranged special events, including speaker presentations by Israel’s United Nations Ambassador, Ron Prosor, and commentator Chaim Even-Zohar. Major sponsors of Israel Diamond Week include the Forty Seventh Fifth Company LLC and the Gemological Institute of America and special security has been arranged in cooperation with the New York City Police Department.
