RAPAPORT... Jewelers of America (JA) is accepting entries for its 2014 national retailer design competition, the CASE Awards, which will be held at the JA New York Winter Show running from March 1 to 4, 2014.  The deadline to submit an entry is February 7.

The CASE Awards typically recognize JA retail members who exhibit creativity, artistry, style and excellence in jewelry design. This year, entries are being accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis to a maximum of 12 jewelry pieces per category.

''Jewelers of America’s CASE Awards celebrate the unparalleled jewelry design talent of the jewelers at Jewelers of America-member jewelry stores nationwide. We are proud to give these independent jewelers the national recognition they deserve,'' said JA's president, David J. Bonaparte.

The 2014 design competition offers four award categories in which jewelers can submit their pieces: jewelry with a retail value up to $2,000; jewelry in the value range of  $2,001 to $5,000; jewelry with a retail value between $5,001 and $10,000, and finally, jewelry with a retail value in excess of $10,000. Participants will be eligible to win a first-place CASE Award in the four competition categories, as well as for “Buyer’s Choice” and “Best of Show.” Winners of the CASE Awards will receive trophies and national media exposure.
