RAPAPORT... James Avery jewelers will open a new location at Southpark Meadows in Austin, Texas in early February 2014. To celebrate the grand opening, the family-owned jeweler will host a drawing at the store for three entrants to win $1,000 James Avery gift cards. The Southpark Meadows location will be James Avery’s seventh in the Austin metropolitan area and its 70th store nationwide. Howell Ridout, the vice president of real estate and development for the firm, said, “Southpark Meadows is a great opportunity to meet the needs of an underserved, but deeply valued Avery customer group in this continuously growing and family-oriented region of south Austin.” James Avery employs 2,000 designers, craftspeople, sales associates and support staff. The majority of its jewelry designs originates in the James Avery design studio and is then crafted and produced by artisans predominantly in the Texas Hill Country.
