RAPAPORT... Paris-based Carnet de Mode, an international online marketplace for emerging couture, jewelry, handbag and shoe designers, launched its new website in an effort to expand retail activities in North America.
New features on the website include one page secure checkout and a fashion and trends blog. The site, which has been optimized for mobile and tablet navigation, enables social shopping through live chat to encourage direct interaction between customers and designers.
"Today the United States represents 50 percent of our turnover and sales. Our unique and novel offer is very popular and we are very enthusiastic about the strong partnerships that we are developing throughout 2014," said Arbia Smiti, the CEO and founder of Carnet de Mode.
The company also provided a new interface, which allows designers to manage their own e-shop. Carnet de Mode was founded in 2011 and offers over 10,000 products from 208 international designers. The company reported double-digit growth of 60 percent in 2013, according to its statement.
