Christie's to Hold Online-Only Jewelry Sale

RAPAPORT... Christie's will hold an online-only statement jewels sale between February 25 and March 6, 2014.
The sale consists of 80 lots and includes a variety of colored stones, diamonds, jadeite, cultured pearls and watches at, what the auction house defines as ''accessible price points,'' starting at $258 (HKD 2,000).
Highlights of the sale include ruby and diamond jewelry by Van Cleef & Arpels that is estimated to fetch between $5,000 to $7,000, and emerald and diamond jewelry by Chaumet, which have a presale estimate of $2,000 to $3,000. A ruby and diamond wristwatch by Chopard is estimated to fetch between $3,800 and $6,500 and a suite of jadeite and diamonds from the brand has a presale estimate of $6,500 to $10,000.
