Press Release: Fancy colored diamonds, a specialty of the Israeli diamond industry, will be widely available on the trading floor of the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) during  April 6 to 10 for the U.S. & International Diamond Week. "Fancy color diamonds are among the rarest of diamonds," said Leibish Polnauer, the CEO of Leibish & Co., one of Israel's leading fancy colored diamond manufacturers and traders. "Only one out of every 10,000 gem-quality diamonds mined is a fancy color diamond. And still, polished fancy color goods are readily available on the market in Israel," Polnauer stated.

Fancy colored diamonds are particularly desirable among the diamond traders that buy at the IDE due to the widely acknowledged superior quality that characterizes the collections of Israeli diamantaires.

"Unlike in many diamond markets worldwide, fancy colored diamond sellers in Israel put a great emphasis on collecting only the best natural colored diamonds," Polnauer said. "The quality is so renowned that when Israeli traders are abroad, their diamonds are regarded as among the most valued on the market. Some of the most beautiful and precious colored diamonds in the world pass through IDE's trading floor. Often, these stones are later seen, set into magnificent pieces of jewelry on the catwalks of fashion shows, and on the red carpet of the Oscars, Golden Globes and Grammy awards ceremonies, exhibiting the full potential of their beauty."

IDE's president, Shmuel Schnitzer, who is also a vice president of the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association (IsDMA), said that Israel's diamond cutters have since long shown their excellence in the field of fancy colored diamonds.

"As a leading manufacturing and trading center of this special category of natural diamonds, we are adding significant value and offering an important service to the downstream markets. I invite buyers to come and experience the unmatched choice of fancy colored diamonds during the upcoming U.S. & International Diamond Week in Israel," Schnitzer concluded.
