Kalyan Jewellers Wins Emerging Retailer Award

Retailer Opens Three Showrooms in Delhi

RAPAPORT... Kalyan Jewellers won the ''Emerging Retailer'' of the year award from The Economic Times Retail Awards, which recognize innovation and confidence in serving consumer product segments.  Kalyan Jewellers received the honor for having grown its operations across India this past year despite very weak market conditions, according to the company.

T.S. Kalyanaraman, the managing director of Kalyan Jewellers, said, “This award is an indication of our growing presence in the market, which can be attributed to the trust our esteemed customers have in us. Our employees work diligently to ensure that our customers are completely satisfied with our product and we serve them to the best of our abilities. We are looking forward to continuing our momentum.”

The Economic Times Retail Award is also meant to encourage  excellence in business operations, customer service, merchandise mix and corporate social responsibility. Some additional retail winners included   Ajit Joshi of Infiniti Retail, Cafe Coffee Day's V.G. Siddhartha and the department store chain Shoppers Stop.

In other news, Kalyan Jewellers opened three showrooms in Delhi, each accounting for  15,000 square feet of space and with separate floors for diamonds and gold jewelry.  The showrooms were inaugurated by Kalyan Jewellers' brand ambassador, Aishwariya Rai Bachchan, on March 22.

Kalyanaraman said,  “The launch of our stores in Delhi underlines the importance of this dynamic market. We are hopeful that Kalyan Jeweller’s tryst with Delhi will make more jewelry aficionados appreciate the brand and its unparalleled collection of jewelry. This launch is aimed at expanding the shopping options of the people in the city, while providing a greater level of choice, convenience and satisfaction.”

The retailer stated that Delhi is a key market, where there is strong demand for both traditional as well as contemporary jewelry designs. The company plans to open 19 more showrooms during the next year.
