RAPAPORT... Wholesale diamond and jewelry firm Gem Star Inc. in Canada appointed Beverly Serrao as its director to oversee new business development. Serrao joins Gem Star from the Zale Corporation in Dallas, where she was vice president of diamond sourcing. Prior to Zale, Serrao worked with People’s Jewellers in Toronto as a diamond purchasing agent. "Beverly is a highly skilled and experienced diamond buyer with many years of experience and a high code of ethics. I am thrilled to add her to our executive team," said Bhushan Vora, the president of Gem Star. "Her experience in buying and selling diamonds, combined with her negotiating capabilities and high code of ethics, are very relevant to Gem Star. We are looking forward to a long and profitable relationship.” Serrao said, "I am very excited to join the Gem Star team.
