Press Release:  Sarine Technologies, the world leader in the development of precision technology products for the gem and diamond industry, has announced the success of Sarine Loupe™ tests in the U.S. and India. A limited number of customers in India are now employing the technology, which provides revolutionary digital imaging of diamonds and gemstones anywhere.

Scanning 360-degrees of a diamond or gemstone, the Sarine Loupe creates a 3D digital file that can be rotated freely in all directions, zoomed in, and thoroughly inspected. Sarine Loupe provides, for the first time ever, an objective visual standard resulting in unprecedented ease of trade. The file can be shared digitally throughout various platforms, eliminating the need to travel with stock. Secure and high tech, Sarine Loupe fills a void in the market for inspecting diamonds and gemstones globally, without the worry or hassle of shipping.

Manufacturers in India and buyers in the U.S. have responded positively, with the majority of participants expressing interest in the imaging technology. Responding to the demand in India, Sarine Technologies has decided to start offering the imaging on a limited roll out basis. At the suggestion of participants, Sarine is in the process of adding additional features to Sarine Loupe, providing even easier online assessment of polished diamonds. Production ramp-up and the implementation of additional features will happen simultaneously over the coming months, with full the commercial offering of Sarine Loupe imaging occurring in the third quarter of this year.

Uzi Levami, Sarine's CEO, said,  "The feedback from the testing has been very positive and the ideas proposed by our customers show just how excited they are about the concept embodied in the Sarine Loupe. We are, as we have previously commented, confident that the Sarine Loupe will enable online assessment of polished diamonds in an altogether new and efficient mode, by enabling buyers to ascertain accurate and objective information as to the polished diamonds’ clarity and cut. We will further enhance the system so that an impression as to the polished diamond's color and its visual appearance will also be provided. Coupled with the Sarine Light, diamond sellers will have at their disposal two effective means by which to accurately present the features of their polished diamonds to potential buyers and the buyers will have the objective means by which to make informed decisions online about buying the stones, without being encumbered by the inefficiencies that are currently part and parcel of the trading process."

Two demos of the technology are available online at:

These examples of two equally graded 2.50-carat round-brilliant diamonds (with GIA certificates), both with color H and clarity VS1, show just how objective the new Sarine Loupe imagery is. In the first example, one can easily see that the stone, though a VS1, has two black inclusions near the center of the stone, while in the second example there are no easily discernible inclusions of any type (though upon closer inspection at a higher magnification one can find the very small imperfections).
