Killion Joins the Board of Libbey Inc.

RAPAPORT... Theo Killion, the CEO of Zale Corporation, was elected to the board of directors at Libbey Inc., a manufacturer of glass tableware that recorded almost $819 million in sales in 2013.  

Libbey's chairman of the board, William Foley, said, that he looks forward to the "new perspectives and experiences" that Killion brings to the board. "His extensive experience in organizational leadership will be an asset for us as we pursue growth plans for our businestheo killions."  

Stephanie Streeter, Libbey's CEO, said, "We are absolutely thrilled to have Theo join our board. He has exceptional experience in a variety of companies and situations, knows the retail space, one of our largest channels, intimately, and has recently led his company through a successful turnaround. He brings with him a wide spectrum of experiences from HR to operations to strategy. We're so pleased he is joining us as we begin the next phase of our company's long-range strategy."

Libbey's board numbers nine members, eight of whom are independent directors. The company is based in Toledo, Ohio.

Killion joined Zale in January 2008 and served as company president from August 5 that year until September 23, 2010, and was promoted to interim CEO from January 13, 2010 to September 23, 2010.  Killion was previously employed with the executive recruiting firm Berglass+Associates, focusing on companies in the retail, consumer goods and fashion industries. Other prior rolls included  executive vice president of human resources at Tommy Hilfiger and  various management positions with Limited Brands.  Killion also serves on the board of Express Inc.
