RAPAPORT... The Jewelry Information Center (JIC) opened its fifth annual "Ultimate Proposal Contest" at www.JIC.org, launching a nationwide search for the best proposal story involving a platinum engagement ring. This year, the grand prize includes $5,000 of platinum jewelry from any jeweler, who is a member of Jewelers of America. Couples who have a proposal involving a platinum engagement ring can share their story with a picture or video at www.JIC.org through July 7, 2014, at 12 p.m. EDT. From July 7 to August 14, the public will then vote online for their favorite proposal story and the top 10 entries based on the most votes will move into a final judging round. JIC will announce the grand prize winner on August 21.
"The engagement ring is the cornerstone of the engagement story and the Ultimate Proposal Contest provides an opportunity for people to share their incredible proposal stories while having the chance at winning platinum jewelry for their wedding day or anniversary," said Amanda Gizzi of Jewelers of America.
The Ultimate Proposal Contest is sponsored by Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company and Platinum Guild International.
