RAPAPORT... Firestone Diamonds appointed two non-executive directors to its board. Ken Owen was named as an independent non-executive director, while Niall Young was appointed as Pacific Road Capital's nominated non-executive director.

"The changes to Firestone's board are in line with our strategy as we position the company to successfully execute the construction of the main treatment plant at the Liqhobong diamond mine following completion of the project financing in May 2014," said Lucio Genovese, the chairman of Firestone Diamonds.

Both new board members have extensive mining and diamond industry experience. Their respective engineering, geological and corporate backgrounds will also help further strengthen Firestone's team, Genovese added.

Additionally, Julian Treger, who played a significant role in the company's successful turnaround over the past three years, will step down from the board to focus on other business interests.
