Press Release: SRK Exports' founder and chairman, Govind Dholakia, continues to be relentless more than two decades on, when it comes to raising awareness about natural resource conservation and the cleanliness drive.  More than 1,100 SRK family members participated in cleaning up  a few kilometers around the Ghats of Rishikesh, while educating citizens about the importance of waste management.

The SRK family members, including small children, collected waste material with the aim of instilling civic responsibility and sound management qualities to children  to better manage their own future and spread the conservation message to their friends, family and society at large. All 1,100 participants swept the Ghats at Rishikesh, starting from “Ram Jhula” in Uttarakhand. cleanliness

The SRK campaign was inaugurated by the Rishikesh Municipal Corporation president, who participated in the SRK initiative and appealed to the people of Rishikesh to take inspiration in SRK's cleanliness drive and cooperate in keeping Rishikesh clean.

Speaking on the occasion, SRK's director, Shreyans Dholakia, said that entire fraternity of the SRK Group, which includes more than 5,000 employees at all levels of the company,  are involved in this campaign. "My father actually started this cleanliness drive 22 years back and, since that time, various campaigns are organized by the trusts of whom my father is an active member. Every year under his initiative and supervision, programs are conducted, like cleaning the streets, cleanliness awareness seminars, green plantation programs, Clean River Tapi initiative, etc., to embrace sustainability development," he said.

SRK employees, driven by Govind’s philosophy, took the cleanliness pledge in 2013 as a part of SRK's 50 year anniversary. Even the senior executives, employees and their family members took part in the “50 Years & 50 oath program,” where all 5,000  took the oath at the SRK Sports Complex,  which will make them mature citizens with proper awareness about their responsibilities.

Rahul Dholakia, the managing director for SRK Exports, added, "We are on vacation, and nowadays tourist spots are exploited, mostly by the tourists who leave behind their waste. The real nature and aroma of such wonderful places, especially when it is a holy divine destination, are losing their identity. So, this time we decided to carry out my uncle’s (Govind) 22 year old legacy here in Haridwar. My uncle always tells people to be pure in everything they do; one's happiness should not be the worry or burden for others. So, this time we decided to spread this cleanliness message in this form."
