U.S. Jewelry Store Sales Almost Flat in October

RAPAPORT... U.S. specialty jewelry store sales fell 0.4 percent year on year to $2.15 billion in October, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The monthly loss comes despite an estimated 2 percent rise in jewelry and watch sales in October across all retail outlets to $5.29 million.

After adjusting for seasonal fluctuations, specialty jewelry store sales climbed 0.1 percent to $2.51 billion.

Jewelry store sales in the first 10 months have slipped 1.5 percent to $22.1 billion. The seasonally-adjusted figure is $25.28 billion, a 1.4 percent drop.
