RAPAPORT... Kennady Diamonds announced a record commercial sample grade from the company’s 100-percent controlled Kennady North project in Canada.

The grade for stones greater than 0.85mm from the Faraday 2 kimberlite was 4.48 carats per tonne, while the sample grade at Faraday 1 was a lower 3.07 carats per tonne, according to a statement January 25.

“The sample from Faraday 2 is the highest commercial sample grade recovered to date at the Kennady North project,” said Patrick Evans, Kennady Diamonds’ president and chief executive officer. The results “confirm that the Faraday kimberlites have the potential to host high-grade diamond resources,” he said.

The samples were recovered by core drilling during 2015 and processed by caustic fusion at the Geoanalytical Laboratories Diamond Services of the Saskatchewan Research Council.
