RAPAPORT... Tara Jewels intends to expand its retail footprint through the shop-in-shop model and explore the asset-light franchise model to speed up expansion and cut capital allocation. The company proposes to implement these things “in the medium to long term.”

The planned changes are part of a bid by the India-based company to “restrategize” its domestic retail business to adapt to the current regulatory environment, according to a statement January 29.

The company has moved one of its shop-in-shop outlets from the Indian city of Bhopal to the Andheri Shoppers Stop in Mumbai.
