Petra Sells 32-Carat Pink Rough Diamond for $15M

RAPAPORT... Petra Diamonds sold a 32.33-carat rough diamond from its Williamson mine in Tanzania for $15 million.

The price of the pink diamond translates to $463,965 per carat, Petra said in a statement March 24. The miner will also receive 10 percent of the added value of the polished that comes from the stone.

Golden Yellow Diamonds bought the gem on behalf of M.A. Anavi Diamond Group, which specializes in large colored diamonds. The same company purchased a 23.16-carat rough diamond from Petra for $10.1 million in December.
