Lennox
(pictured) headed the De Beers account for marketing firm J.
Walter Thompson, where he was a senior-level executive and strategist from 1992
to 2009. He led a team that developed De Beers iconic “A Diamond is Forever” marketing
campaign.
He was also executive vice-president and chief marketing and
ecommerce officer at
Zale Corporation for five years, leaving in 2014 when the
retailer was
acquired by Signet Jewelers. After that he was
senior VP and chief marketing officer of Toys "R" Us.
Lennox will report to Macy's president Jeff Gennette and
join the company's executive committee.
