Rio Tinto Showcases Cognac-Champagne Necklace

RAPAPORT... Rio Tinto unveiled a necklace featuring more than 45 carats
of cascading champagne and cognac diamonds and a 3.55-carat white diamond from
its iconic Argyle mine in Australia.
The Origins of Argyle necklace, which the miner is
showcasing in New York, is a celebration of the stones’ Australian provenance
and the ties that link the antipodean nation with the US, Rio Tinto said Monday.
The geographical coordinates of the Argyle diamond mine, in the east Kimberley
region of Western Australia, are inscribed on the back of the necklace.
The piece is the property of Jordon Fine, president of New
York-based jeweler JFine, an authorized partner of Argyle Pink Diamonds.
“Argyle diamonds are ethically mined and crafted with an
unbroken chain of custody from a remote corner of Australia, and are a source
of fascination around the world,” Fine said.
Origins of Argyle is one of 31 pieces in an exhibition
featuring more than $60 million of Argyle-diamond jewelry, with diamond colors
including pink, red, blue, violet, champagne and white. The exhibition
coincides with the 2017 Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender, which previewed in New York
last week. |
