Demand Strong at Alrosa Large-Stone Auction

RAPAPORT... Alrosa sold $14.8 million worth of large rough diamonds at
an auction in Vladivostok, the Russian miner said last week.
The sale featured 101 special-size stones —
those over 10.8 carats — weighing a total of 1,751 carats.
“The auction [produced]…very good results, confirming high
demand for this category of rough diamonds,” said Evgeny Agureev, director of the
United Selling Organization (USO) Alrosa.
A total of 86 companies from Hong Kong, Belgium, Israel and
India attended the auction.
