Brian Land has left his position as executive director of the Canadian Jewellers Association (CJA) after completing an 18-month contract with the trade group.

The CJA hired Land on a temporary basis in August 2017 to manage its merger with Jewellers Vigilance Canada, which took effect in October of last year. Carla Adams, a manager at CJA, will serve as interim director until the organization finds a permanent successor, which it expects to do by mid-January.

“The knowledge and skill [Land] brought to that [merger] was of great assistance,” said Marco Miserendino, chairman of the CJA board of directors. “The successful completion of that assignment now enables both Brian and the association to determine and pursue their respective future directions.”
