Industry stocks fell as global markets slid, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average losing 3.3% for the week at press time. Birks Group (-20%) headed the retail slumps, with J.C. Penney (-14%), Macy’s (-3.7%) and Chow Sang Sang (-1.7%) also losing ground. In Europe, Kering (-4.1%) and LVMH (-2.3%) dropped, while miner Petra Diamonds (-5%) declined. Mountain Province (+10%) rose after analysts at BidaskClub reportedly upgraded the stock.
