RAPAPORT... Mountain Province has added three industry veterans to its board, including William Lamb, the former head of Lucara Diamond Corp., it said Monday.

Lamb has more than 25 years of experience in mining operations and project development. He served as CEO of Lucara for seven years, prior to his retirement in 2018.

Tom Peregoodoff, the CEO of gold and copper exploration company Kaizen Discovery, will also join the board. Previously, he was CEO of exploration company Peregrine Diamonds, which De Beers purchased for $80.6 million last year.

Additionally, Brett Desmond, senior vice president of corporate development for Daon, a software assurance company, will take a spot on the board. He has spent 20 years in the banking, corporate-finance and asset-management industries. Desmond is the son of Dermot Desmond, a major Mountain Province shareholder, who requested his nomination to the board.

“These changes demonstrate the board’s commitment to the long-term success of the company, and the experience and expertise of the new board members in various aspects of our business will ensure that we continue to maximize the value of our quality assets,” said Jonathan Comerford, chairman of Mountain Province.

Lamb, Peregoodoff and Desmond will replace outgoing board members Bruce Dresner, Carl Verley and Peeyush Varshney.
