RAPAPORT... Watches of Switzerland has appointed Craig Bolton to the newly created role of executive director of UK operations, as the company looks to grow its business.

Bolton is a 15-year veteran of the company, having previously served as executive director for two of its retail brands, Mappin & Webb and Goldsmiths. The group also owns the Watches of Switzerland and Mayors brands.

David Hurley, the current executive vice president for the US division, will continue to lead the US operations. Bolton and Hurley will both report to Watches of Switzerland CEO Brian Duffy.

“Under [Craig’s] leadership, our UK retail brands…have gone from strength to strength,” Duffy said Tuesday. “We are well positioned as we move into 2020, with strong business momentum and exciting new growth opportunities in both the UK and US. This new structure will support these opportunities.”

Additionally, chief operating officer Tony Broderick will retire in April after more than 40 years with the company. He was hired in 1979 as a warehouse supervisor at Goldsmiths, assuming his current role in 2009.
