RAPAPORT... Christie’s has welcomed back Eleanor Walper to its jewelry department, appointing her associate vice president and specialist within its Los Angeles office. Walper began her jewelry career at Christie’s in 2014, the company said last week. She later worked at Bonhams as a jewelry specialist, most recently focusing on securing notable jewelry consignments across the west coast region.
In her new post, Walper will be responsible for further developing ties with new clients along the west coast. She earned her graduate gemologist certificate from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in 2015.
Christie’s first opened its Los Angeles office in April 2017 in response to a surge of new buyers hailing from the area, the auction house noted.
