RAPAPORT... Pandora has named Mary Carmen Gasco-Buisson as its new chief marketing officer to help the brand achieve growth.

Gasco-Buisson has extensive consumer brand experience in several categories, including fragrances, beauty and women’s health. She is currently global vice president of Unilever, where her achievements include heading the turnaround of men's personal-care brand Axe. She previously held leading positions at Procter & Gamble for 22 years, including consumer health CEO at P&G Ventures and global marketing and innovation director for Hugo Boss Fragrances. She was also an executive at venture capital firm M13 and advised a range of consumer and tech start-ups.

“[Gasco-Buisson] brings standout experience in building, expanding and turning around global consumer brands. She has a deep understanding of today’s consumer, and she can translate this knowledge into innovative business strategies,” Pandora CEO Alexander Lacik said in the Tuesday announcement.

Gasco-Buisson will move from London to Pandora’s global headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, reporting to Lacik and serving on the company’s executive leadership team. A start date hasn’t been released.

The Danish jeweler has recently been expanding its marketing activities, in which it currently invests approximately 13% to 15% of its turnover, according to the company — up from around 9% in 2018.
