My intention was to trim my hair short, with the best of DIY good intentions. Unfortunately we can see why barber school was never my calling. I can blame the cheap clippers, but to be honest, it's good for an air-conditionless Tel Aviv summer.

Hair grows back, but until then I can expect to endure the good-humored barbs about a certain resemblance to Sinnead O'Connor, the Gerber Baby and a former eye-patched Israeli Defense Minister.

Adalah-NY Protest at Leviev Store in New York
Jul 9, 2008 9:44PM    By Carol F. Yost
Of course Leviev would say the protest was "political." He's said that all along. What does that mean, exactly? The point is that he is building hundreds of homes in Jewish settlements in Palestinian territories; these settlements are illegal according to international law. This is easy to document and prove. He's also treating his workers unjustly in Africa; Namibian workers at his diamond-polishing plant have been involved in a large protest.
