RAPAPORT... Atlanta area authorities are investigating whether a series of smash and grab jewelry store robberies are related. There have been several cases in malls since June -- two since July 22.

Police say they have identified one suspect, but have not made any arrests.

Robberies have occurred at jewelry stores in the following malls: Union Station Mall Atlanta;  Northlake; North Dekalb; Cumberland; West End; and the Mall at Stonecrest.

Four suspects are show in surveillance video during a smash and grab robbery at a diamond kiosk in the Union Station mall and at jewelry store in Northlake mall. Information from the other stores was not available.

One stand-alone Shane Company jewelry store in Cobb County was also robbed, on  July 14, but it was not a smash and grab. The suspect in this case made-off with a $10,000 set of diamond earrings the salesperson handed him to view.
